A plumber does the following:
- Plans, designs, installs and services many different types of piping systems.
- Installs plumbing water supply, drainage and fixtures, hot water heating systems, natural gas and propane systems.
- Blueprint reading, drafting and sketching.
- Works with pipe – brass, copper, steel, cast iron, aluminum and many different plastics.
- Works with valves, controls, fittings.
- Measures, cuts, threads, solders, braze welds, clamps, bends, glues, crimps and generally fastens, assembles and installs.
- Renovate, maintain and repair existing piping systems.
- A plumber must be intelligent, able to make decisions and be productive.
- Must be physically fit and agile.
